What is the difference between a lanai and a screened porch?

In Florida the terms overlap heavily. Lanai usually describes a covered, often screened outdoor living area attached to the back of the house, while porch can refer to a front or side entry as well. Functionally we build both the same way: aluminum framing, screen mesh, and code-compliant doors.
Can you screen an existing covered porch?

Yes. If the roof and posts are already there, we frame and screen between them, which is the fastest and most cost-effective version of the project. If the porch needs a new roof or structural posts, we can design and build those as well.
How long will the screen last in Florida sun and salt?
